Frequently asked questions
Plan your collection or delivery with practical answers about waste, access, aggregates, estimates and booking.
A grab truck uses its hydraulic arm and bucket to load prepared material into the vehicle for removal. Tell us the material, quantity, postcode and access conditions first so we can confirm a suitable collection.
We work with homeowners, groundworkers and commercial customers. Our full-load collection policy and access checks apply to all jobs, including driveway, garden and building projects.
A grab collection can suit a prepared pile of accepted inert material that the truck can safely reach. A skip may suit waste built up gradually or a different waste stream. Tell us what you have before deciding; we do not offer half-load collections or mixed general waste removal.
We serve Glasgow, Paisley, Renfrewshire and Central Scotland, with other locations assessed individually. Enter the actual job postcode for an estimate. The team will confirm coverage, safe access and availability before a booking is agreed.
Yes. Trade day hire includes an experienced operator, with day rates and line work available by arrangement. We confirm the operating period, duties, locations, journeys and any separate disposal, material or waiting charges. A day rate does not mean unlimited loads or hours.
Our standard collection accepts suitable inert soil, topsoil, gravel, stone, bricks, concrete and rubble. Tell us where the material came from and what it contains. The team must confirm acceptance for your particular job.
Our standard inert collection excludes general rubbish, plasterboard, plastic, timber and mixed general waste. Do not include asbestos, hazardous or contaminated waste, chemicals, oils, liquids or gas cylinders. Tell us about anything you are unsure of before collection.
No. Grab-hire collections are priced by full load, with capacity up to 16 tonnes subject to material density, volume, vehicle limits and safe loading. The driver decides when the lawful load limit has been reached; a full load does not guarantee 16 tonnes for every material.
Grass cuttings, branches, roots and tree stumps are not part of our standard inert-soil collection. Keep them separate and tell us about them before requesting a collection. Do not assume they can be loaded with soil.
Describe every material in the pile so we can confirm acceptance and pricing. Keep rubbish, plasterboard, wood and other excluded materials separate. Do not hide unsuitable waste beneath soil or rubble; the driver may stop or refuse a collection if the contents differ from those agreed.
Tell us before booking and do not add it to a standard inert load. Suspected contamination needs specialist assessment and an appropriate disposal arrangement. Do not disturb suspected asbestos to obtain a sample or photograph.
Give us an approximate pile size, the material type and clear photographs if available. We can discuss the likely number of loads. Volume does not convert to tonnes at one fixed rate, and the final number depends on the actual material and safe loading limits. Use the advice option on the form if you are unsure.
We arrange disposal at appropriately authorised facilities. Give us an accurate description and source of the waste for the required transfer documentation. Ask the team about the paperwork for your job and keep it with your records.
We need a safe standing position, suitable ground and enough room to reach and load the material. Tell us about entrance widths, parked cars, slopes, soft surfaces, drains, weight restrictions, trees and overhead cables. Send photos and measurements so the team can assess the actual vehicle and site; the driver makes the final safety decision.
It may be possible, depending on the obstacle height, distance to the pile, truck position and surrounding hazards. Send photographs and approximate measurements before booking. We cannot promise a reach distance or confirm suitability from the postcode alone.
Agree an accessible collection point with us before building the pile. Keep accepted material together, separate from excluded waste, with the truck approach clear. Do not place material on roads, pavements or neighbouring land without the required permission.
Standard collection covers loading prepared material with the grab and removing the agreed load. Excavation, demolition, hand loading, sweeping and other groundworks are not included unless expressly agreed. Arrange any excavation with your own contractor before the collection.
That depends on the agreed standing position and reach. Tell us about vulnerable paving, lawns, drains, underground services and soft ground before attendance. Heavy vehicles and loading can affect surfaces, so the access plan must be assessed first. Do not assume every driveway can support the truck.
Tell us if the truck would need to work from a road, pavement or restricted parking area. Any necessary permissions, permits or traffic management must be checked and agreed before attendance. Do not assume that a short collection automatically removes those requirements.
Arrange for someone to identify the material or unloading point, or agree clear instructions with us in advance. Provide a reachable phone number. Keep people, pets and other equipment away from the working area and follow the driver’s instructions.
We supply Type 1, Type 2, Type 3, whin dust, different sands, pipe bedding, 6 mm WP grit and ballast. Tell us the required specification and intended use; we can also discuss sourcing other materials, subject to availability.
The minimum aggregate order is 5 tonnes. The enquiry form accepts whole-tonne quantities. If you are unsure how much you need, give us the area, planned depth and material specification so we can discuss it before you order.
No. Aggregate-only deliveries require us to contact you with a transport price. Any material cost and VAT shown are not the complete delivered total. We will confirm the transport charge, VAT and final delivered price before you agree a booking.
Choose Aggregates Delivery + Collection when you need both on the same visit. There is no additional aggregate transport charge where delivery fits the agreed collection visit, subject to quantities, vehicle capacity and access. Material and collection charges still apply. Additional journeys or deliveries require a separate agreed price.
Tell us your preferred unloading point and any walls, cables or access restrictions before booking. We will confirm what is practical and safe. Do not assume a particular unloading method, reach or placement is included until the team has agreed it.
The estimate uses the job postcode, service, material, quantity and other pricing details entered on the form. Your house number and full address are sent with the enquiry so we can locate the job, but the distance calculation uses the postcode rather than your exact entrance.
The form separates the total excluding VAT, VAT at 20% and the estimated grand total. Read any unpriced-item notice: aggregate-only transport and work needing assessment may still be excluded. We confirm the full price and applicable VAT before agreement.
No. Automated estimates may be inaccurate and do not reserve a truck or date. Sending the form asks our team to review the job. We will phone or email to confirm the actual price, availability and timeframe before a booking is agreed.
The enquiry is sent to our business inbox with your contact details, full job address, service information, estimate and unique quote reference. Save the reference shown on the thank-you page and quote it when contacting us. If you have not heard from the team, phone or email flobobhaulage@gmail.com; the reference itself is not a booking confirmation.
Check that the postcode and required job details are complete. If the form still cannot calculate a price, contact us with the address, material, quantity and access details for a manual quotation. Do not treat a missing price as a free service.
We normally agree a two-hour arrival window. Traffic, weather, earlier jobs or disposal-site delays can affect it, and we will communicate significant changes. Tell us before booking if a deadline is essential; availability and requested dates need confirmation.
Tell us the dates and frequency you need. The team will check availability and confirm what can be arranged. Selecting a preferred date or mentioning urgency does not reserve a vehicle or guarantee weekend attendance.
We agree payment methods, due dates and any deposit before booking and state them in the quotation or invoice. Submitting the enquiry form does not take payment or create a trade credit account.
Any included loading time and applicable waiting, failed-access or return-visit charges must be explained and agreed with your quotation. Let us know about changes to access, quantities or materials before attendance so we can discuss any effect on cost.
Phone or email us as soon as possible with your reference and job date. An unaccepted enquiry can be withdrawn without a booking cancellation charge. For a confirmed booking, the agreed terms and any statutory rights apply. See our Terms of use for the full cancellation information.
