Ordering fresh topsoil often creates a second problem: what happens to the soil already on site?
If you are landscaping a garden, preparing a lawn, raising levels or completing a building project, you may need soil delivered and excavated material removed at the same time. Arranging these separately can mean extra handling, another vehicle and another transport charge.
Our combined delivery and collection service is designed for this situation. A grab lorry can bring the agreed quantity of topsoil or other suitable material to your site, then collect accepted excavated soil on the same agreed visit, subject to capacity, access and availability.
A clear site. A fresh start.
One visit for delivery and collection
With combined topsoil delivery and soil collection, the work is coordinated around one vehicle movement where the quantities and site conditions allow.
The agreed process is straightforward:
Fresh topsoil or another requested material is delivered to your site.
The grab crane places the material in a suitable location.
Accepted excavated soil is loaded into the lorry.
The collected material is taken to an authorised disposal or recovery site, where suitable.
This can reduce handling and avoid arranging separate delivery and collection vehicles. There is no additional aggregate transport charge where the delivery fits the agreed collection visit. Material and collection charges still apply, and extra journeys are priced separately.
Topsoil supply is subject to confirmation when you enquire. Tell us the type and quantity you need, and we will discuss sourcing, availability and the practical delivery arrangement before a booking is agreed.

Suitable for gardens, driveways and construction work
This service can support both domestic and trade projects.
You may be preparing a garden after an excavation, replacing poor ground, creating new planting areas or completing a lawn installation. You may also be working on a driveway, extension, housing project or wider groundworks programme.
The same basic question applies:
What needs to come in, and what needs to leave?
We can discuss combined arrangements for:
Garden dig-outs and landscaping
Lawn and planting-bed preparation
Driveway and patio projects
Extension and renovation work
Groundworks and site preparation
Utility and construction projects
Housebuilding and public-sector work
For trade customers, combining movements may make the day easier to plan. For homeowners, it can avoid having a skip standing on the drive while soil is loaded by hand.
Load sizes and minimum quantities
Aggregate and soil delivery is available from a minimum of 5 tonnes. This is the minimum order for the delivery service and applies when you are arranging topsoil or another agreed aggregate.
A full grab lorry load can carry up to 16 tonnes, although the usable quantity depends on the material, weight, access and safe loading conditions. We confirm the practical load arrangement as part of the quotation.
If you are unsure how much topsoil you need, send us:
The length and width of the area
The planned depth
The delivery postcode
The required material
Details of any soil or rubble to be collected
We can then discuss the quantity and whether the delivery and collection can be completed on one visit.
What can be collected?
The combined service is intended for accepted inert material. This may include:
Excavated soil
Topsoil
Gravel
Stone
Bricks
Concrete
Rubble
Tell us where the material came from and what it contains. Mixed general waste, hazardous waste, contaminated material, plasterboard, plastic, wood and other unsuitable items are not included in the standard collection arrangement.
This check is important. It helps us identify the correct disposal route and avoid problems when the material reaches the authorised site.

Plan for grab lorry access
A grab lorry needs a safe position from which the crane can reach the material. It also needs enough room to enter, stand and leave without creating an unsafe obstruction.
When you request a quote, include information about:
Entrance width and turning space
Slopes, soft ground or uneven surfaces
Parked vehicles and street restrictions
Walls, fences, trees and overhead cables
Drains, paving and surfaces that may need protection
Where the topsoil should be placed
Where the old soil is stacked for collection
A typical vehicle is approximately 9.5 metres long and 2.6 metres wide. It is approximately 3.6 metres high when empty, rising to up to 4.9 metres when fully loaded. These dimensions are a guide, so the actual site still needs to be assessed.
In urban parts of Glasgow, access can be affected by parked cars, narrow streets and restricted working areas. Send photographs and measurements where possible. The driver makes the final safety decision on arrival.

Availability and prices
Same-day or next-day service may be possible, subject to access, material availability and the schedule on the day. If you need a specific date, tell us early so we can check whether the required vehicle and material can be arranged.
Quotes are usually returned within 1 hour during business hours when we have the information needed to assess the job. You can also request a free estimate in seconds through our website using the online quote form.
Prices start at £220 + VAT. This is the starting price only. The price can increase from that floor depending on factors such as location, access, material, disposal and the number of loads required.
An enquiry is not a confirmed booking. We confirm the price, access, material, capacity and date before the arrangement is agreed.
How the combined service works
1. Send the job details
Tell us the postcode, required topsoil, quantity and the material you want collected. Add photographs of the access and the stockpile if you can.
2. We check the arrangement
We confirm whether the requested topsoil or aggregate is available, whether the old material is suitable for collection and whether both movements can fit the lorry capacity.
3. We agree the price and timing
We provide the quotation and discuss the expected visit. The date becomes a booking only after the details are confirmed with you.
4. The lorry delivers and collects
The operator arrives with the agreed material, places it where access allows and loads the accepted excavated soil. The work remains subject to safe site conditions.
A practical delivery. A simpler clearance.

Why combine topsoil delivery with muck away?
Arranging both services together can help when your project has a clear exchange of materials.
Soil goes out. Topsoil comes in.
The grab crane handles the loading rather than requiring you to fill a skip by hand. You do not need to leave a skip occupying space while the work continues, and you may avoid a second transport charge where the delivery fits the agreed collection visit.
The arrangement is not suitable for every site. Quantities, access, material type and lorry capacity all need to work together. We will confirm that before the booking is agreed.
Frequently asked questions
Can you deliver topsoil and remove old soil on the same visit?
Yes, where the requested topsoil is available and the delivery and collection fit the agreed vehicle capacity, access and schedule. Confirm the material and quantities when you enquire.
What is the minimum order?
The minimum for aggregate or soil delivery is 5 tonnes. A full grab lorry load can carry up to 16 tonnes, subject to safe loading and the material being carried.
Do I need to arrange a separate vehicle for muck away?
Not necessarily. Where the quantities and access allow, the same grab lorry can deliver the agreed material and collect accepted excavated soil on one visit.
Can you collect mixed garden or building waste?
No. The standard service is for accepted inert material such as soil, gravel, bricks, concrete and rubble. Tell us what the material contains so we can confirm whether collection is suitable.
How soon can the lorry attend?
Same-day or next-day availability may be possible, subject to the route, access, material and available capacity. We confirm the timing before a booking is agreed.
How much does the service cost?
Prices start at £220 + VAT and can only increase from that starting point depending on location, access, material, disposal and load requirements. We provide a quotation after checking your details.
